In view of the above, the authors observed the pathological manifestations of small intestine biopsies in patients with acute simple uncomplicated schistosomiasis. The observation object was 17 patients with acute Schistosoma mansoni. All the cases were positive for Schistosoma japonicum eggs by stool incubation test. The control group was inpatient department of Gastroenterology of Thirteen Hospital Affiliated to Sudan Medical College. Their discharge diagnosis was irritable bowel syndrome.
