Her alarm goes off—much too early. She was up texting with her girlfriends into the early hours of the morning， keeping quiet so Mom and Dad wouldn’t hear. She didn’t want to miss a joke or interesting news.

There are just as many posts3 after bedtime as there are during school hours， and she would feel pretty stupid at school if she missed out on something big from the night before. Things happens pretty much online and over text when she’s under the covers with only the light of her cell phone.

They’re always trying to cheat9 off her papers and homework. She looks down at the papers on her desk to see that they also put a piece of paper on it. There are some names of whom want to cheat off her papers and homework. She says no and rolls her eyes at them.

On the bus ride home from school she sits next to her next door neighbor， Summer， and they pass the time by showing each other interesting accounts10. They talk about the ones they know from sports groups， the ones they’ve talked to through direct messages or texting， and the ones they follow but don’t actually know at all.
在放學回家的巴士上，她坐在隔壁邻居萨默的旁边，她们通过相互展示分享网上有趣的博主来打发时间。她们谈论在体育活动中认识的人，通过直接发私信或短信交谈过的人，以及她们关注但根本不了解的人。
She’s surprised to hear that some of these guys have also asked Summer for money—she’s had a few of those requests11 of her own.

“Did you give them？” she asks nervously12.
