“道沿圣以垂文,圣因文而明道。”这两句话,准确表述了“道”与“圣”的相互依赖关系。刘勰认为,古代圣人是根据“自然之道”的基本精神来写文章,“自然之道”是通过古代圣人的文章得到阐明的。只有这样的文章,才能起到鼓动天下的巨大作用。文以明道,是中国古代文论的一种观念,是对文学作品中“文”与“道”关系的概括说法。早在战国时《荀子》中已露端倪。荀子在《解蔽》《儒效》《正名》等篇
