In April and May 1987, the State Education Commission conducted tests and questionnaires on nearly 60,000 junior high school students in 15 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. According to random sampling, 5,573 junior high school students from 65 secondary schools in 16 cities (counties) in our province accepted the test and survey. The test is divided into two tests, I and II, with a score of 100 points for each test. The I test tests students’ basic knowledge, and the II test mainly tests the students’ abilities. This test, although the average mathematics level of the third and third grade students in our province is relatively good, the average score of the I test is 80.15, and the average score of the test II is 66.25, but there are a series of problems hidden in the “high score”.
