佛教重视沐浴,将沐浴看做“净身、净心”的重要途径,敦煌莫高窟中出现多幅以沐浴为主题的壁画。它们多以经变画的形式展现,主要包括:剃度、洗头、灌顶、净齿等。画面生动活泼,极具戏剧性和观赏性。充满生活特色的沐浴图也是中古世界佛教庶民化的缩影。 Buddhism attaches importance to bathing, taking bathing as an important way of “purifying the body and purifying the mind”.
