This article summarizes the results of a series of combinations of carboxyl-containing trinuclear molybdenum clusters studied by the authors. These clusters are divided into two categories. The first type is (C_2H_5) _4N [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) (μ-O_2CH) _3 (μ-Cl) _3Cl_3] (Ⅰ) (CH_3) _4N [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) μ_Cl_3Cl_3] (Ⅱ) (CH_3) _4N [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) (μ-O_2CH) _3 (μ-Br) _3Cl_3] (C_5H_7S_2) [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) ) _3 (μ-Cl) _3Cl_3] (C_5H_7S_2) [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) (μ-O_2CCH_3) _3 (μ-Br) _3Cl_3] (C_2H_5) _4N [Mo_3 (μ-Cl) _3X_3] (Ⅵ) (X is a cluster of Cl and Br statistical distributions) (C_2H_5) _4N [Mo_3 (μ_3-O) (μ_O_2CCH_2CH_3) _3 (μ_Cl_3Cl_3) The cluster anions of (I) - (VIII) have the following general formula: [Mo_3 (μ_O) (μ_O_2CCH_2CH_2CH_3) _3 (μ-Cl) _3Cl_3] μ_3-O) (μ-O_2CR) _3 (μ-X) _3X_3 ~ ’] ~ -; R = H, CH_3, CH_3CH_3, CH_2CH_2CH_2: X and X’ = Cl or Br.
