Cross-cultural nonverbal communicative competency constitutes a very important part of foreign language proficiency. However, for many reasons, the cultivation of cross-cultural nonverbal communicative competency has for a long time been neglected in the process of Foreign Language Teaching (FLT). This paper is devoted to analyzing the reasons for the cultivation of nonverbal communicative competency being a blind area in FLT.
