Non-agriculturalization is the fundamental motive force for the differentiation of rural social members. Since the 1980s, China has chosen a unique road to non-agricultural development in the course of its reform and development, which has determined the diversity of the ways in which members of the rural community in China have differentiated. This has led to the diversification of migration and identity among rural society members and their gradual separation into several Social strata. This process also shows the inadequacy of the measurement of the differentiation of rural social members in China, resulting in the “amphibiousness” and marginalization of some of the farmers who are members of the agricultural sector. At this stage, the particularity of the differentiation of rural social members in China is bound to have a profound impact on the social harmony and development in China.
