INTRODUCTION Solid catalysts are usually porous and the reactants must enter the pores and come into contact with the surface active sites of the catalyst to allow the reaction to take place rapidly. The reaction product must diffuse out to maintain normal operation. Therefore, the pore structure of the catalyst properties such as activity, strength, selectivity, surface utilization and poisoning have an impact. Thus, for a catalytic reaction, it is important to select the appropriate support and to make the resulting catalyst have the best pore structure after the active components are identified.
