今年九月,在大马士革这个具有悠久历史与古老文化的叙利亚首都举行了在阿拉伯国家中第一次规模宏大的国际博览会。会场位于横贯大马士革著名的巴拉达河两岸及古老的沙拉雅曼清真寺旁,面积达四万余平方公尺。参加这次博览会的,有来自东西方不同社会制度与信仰的二十八个国家。苏联和人民民主国家的展览馆获得了广大观众的好评。苏联馆是大会中规模最大的馆,克里姆林宫式建筑上红星的光芒照耀着整个会场,丰富的展品与高度的艺术充分显示了社会主义国家雄伟的力量。捷克斯洛伐克、保加利亚与匈牙利各馆也以它们的劳动人民的新成就及固有的民族艺术吸引了很多的观众。这些展览馆有力地显示了这些国家的人民从事和平建设的无限热忱及幸福愉快的新生活。一位青年穆罕默
In September this year, the first large-scale international fair in Arab countries was held in Damascus, the capital of Syria with a long history and ancient culture. The venue is located on both sides of the famous Balada River across Damascus and the ancient Sharjah Mansi Mosque, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. To participate in this fair, there are twenty-eight countries from different social systems and beliefs in the East and the West. The exhibition halls of the Soviet Union and the people’s democracies won the praise of the majority of the audience. The Soviet Union Pavilion is the largest assembly in the General Assembly. The light of the Red Star on the Kremlin-style building shines through the venue. The rich exhibits and high art fully demonstrate the majestic power of the socialist countries. The Czechoslovakia, Bulgarian and Hungarian pavilions also attracted a large audience with the new achievements of their working people and their inherent ethnic art.
