贾平凹在其长篇小说《高兴》中,成功地塑造了一个进城“拾荒”的农民工形象——五富。五富被迫走进城市,努力抗争命运的残酷,最后又被城市所吞噬。整部作品中,五富是仅次于主人公的一个重要人物,无论是其叙事功能,还是对主人公形象的映衬,还是对于作品的主题思想的表达、深化,都具有无可替代的作用。五富既是乡村文明的体现者,也是城市文明的见证者,是作品中唯一一个最充分地体现了双重文明的艺术形象。五富的身上寄予着作者对乡土文明的爱与痛。
In his novel Happy, Jia Pingwa succeeded in shaping up an image of migrant workers entering the city and scavenging - the Five Rich.
