Britain, known as “the birthplace of the railway,” has maintained its leadership in the reform of railway vehicles, despite its narrowing of private railway industry and its exports in the past 30 years. The recession has begun 20 years ago, and only a few companies have measured the changes in the market and rationalized their production. Even the British state-run railway factory has been affected. After the British Rail Engineering Corporation was established in 1970, it proposed an 18 million-pound investment plan to acquire machine tools and build a mechanized foundry in 1980.
