As businesses manage safety and risk, the risk-based approach used to manage inspection and repair is a tool that has been developed to optimize asset costs in the last decade. This more advanced quantification method is capable of predicting the results of inspection of the degree of risk of the device and helping to develop an optimized inspection plan. These methods, due to the development of integrated software solutions, are now beginning to mature. Integrated software solutions enable the exchange of information with equipment databases, the ability to manage the execution of inspection plans and maintenance plans, and the permanent maintenance of assets and inspection data. This article describes the implementation of such a comprehensive RBI and inspection system for nearshore installations in the Middle East. Based on detailed RBI analysis and past inspection records, NDT testing was performed on the selected equipment. Asset data, inspection records, and documents are centrally stored in a computerized system. The system has the ability to store and review various types of documents and drawings. The system may also generate and monitor inspection and repair work orders, and be able to communicate with other enterprise systems. Knowledge databases are useful for the activities of all assets. It is also convenient to exchange data with MSExel input and output functions.
