在本刊1989年第9期刊登的《有效数字概念的理解及补充》一文(以下简称《补文》)中,作者谈了对有效数字概念的认识、理解,并就处理有效数字问题时如何对待“0”的问题提出了新见解,但是,我认为《补文》对有效数字定义的理解却是不全面的,故提出来与大家讨论。《补文》指出:测量结果中可靠的几位数字(读出的)加上存疑的一位数字(估读的),统称有效数字。不难看出,作者认为从仪器上读出的数字就是可靠数字,估读的数字就是存疑数字。这是不妥当的。我们清楚,任何测量结果都是有误差的。正如《补文》开头所说:我们获得的测量值只
