二溴苯芴酮是测定钛的高灵敏而且有较高选择性的显色剂。在pH1.2—1.9且有CTAB存在时,试剂与Ti(Ⅳ)生成可溶性红紫色1:2络合物。许多金属离子如Ca~(2+)、Mg~(2+)、Be~(2+)、Cu~(2+)、Pb~(2+)、Zn~(2+)、Cd~(2+),Co~(2+)、Ni~(2+)、Mn~(2+),Fe~(2+)、Al~(3+)、Bi~(3+)、Ce~(3+)、La~(3+)、Y~(3+)、Th~(4+)、及NO_3~-、Cl~-、Br~-、SO_4~(2-)、PO_4~(3-)、酒石酸根、柠檬酸根、草酸根、抗坏血酸等都没有干扰;少于0.5毫克的F~-及0.05毫克的NO_2~-也没有妨碍。有抗坏血酸、硫酸羟胺及氟离子存在时,可以掩蔽下列数量(毫克)的金属离子:Sb(Ⅲ)(0.025)、Sn(Ⅳ)(0.006)、Mo(Ⅵ)(0.002)、W(Ⅵ)(0.015)、Nb(Ⅴ)(0.0035)、Ta(Ⅴ)(0.005)、Ge~(4+)(0.002)、V(Ⅴ)(0.012)、Fe~(3+)(17)、Cr(Ⅵ)(4),Zr(Ⅳ)(0.03).拟定了测定纯铝、铝合金、合金钢、铬铁矿和超基性岩中微量钛的测定方法。溶样后即可直接测定,操作简便,结果满意。
