结缘我个人在山东北部沿海从事盐业遗址的调查和发掘已有10多年时间,可以说是伴随着山东盐业考古一路走过来的。山东盐业考古正式开展是在2001年,当年的2~6月,我利用带学生发掘实习的机会与寿光市博物馆合作,对寿光北部沿海的大荒北央遗址进行试掘,结果发现了一批很有价值的西周前期制盐遗存,包括挖取地下卤水的水沟、泼洒卤水以刮取盐土的草木灰摊场、浇淋盐土以获取高浓度卤水的小圆坑,以及大量用来盛装高浓度卤水生产海盐的盔形器等,证明这里是西周前期的煮盐遗址。
