When sterilization is in progress, there is sometimes a need for additional injection of anesthetic because of the length of the procedure or for other reasons. In dogs for intravenous injection, usually the forelimb or hindlimb vein. However, on the operation table, on the one hand, the limbs are fixed, on the other hand, because of the covering of the surgical towel, the surgical towel must be lifted off during the intravenous injection of the limbs to release the ropes of the fixed limbs. This not only hinders the operation, but also is easily contaminated with surgery towel. Dog under anesthesia, the head is fixed, the tongue is easy to pull out. Dog tongue ventral surface has many significant veins, with fine needles in any vein can be injected (to the tongue base), very convenient. This will not only affect the operation, but also will not contaminate the towel. In addition, intravenous limbs usually require cooperation between the two, and for tongue injection, one person can operate. Two years, the Beijing Medical College Physiology and Pathophysiology, two teaching and research group to try this method, proved to be simple and feasible, especially introduced.
