每两周,在满月和新月期间,太阳、月亮和地球三者会排成近乎于一条直线。在这种地心引力的整合安排下会引起潮汐的大幅波动。但是,在天象中这种组合成一条直线不仅仅会影响海洋,还会影响地壳给断层以巨大压力。新的研究表明,这恰恰使得大地震更有可能发生在这个时候。虽然这个观点并不新,但是科学家们很难验证地震与潮汐之间的关系。比如:近几年来三次最大的地震均是发生在潮汐引力非常高的时候,但是这些大地震非常少见,而且与潮汐引力似乎有所关联。
Every two weeks, during the full moon and the new moon, the sun, the moon and the earth will be arranged in almost a straight line. Under such a gravity-based integration arrangement, there will be a sharp tidal fluctuation. However, this combination of astronomical phenomena not only affects the oceans but also affects the crust to exert tremendous pressure on the fault. New research shows that this makes it more likely that a major earthquake will occur at this time. Although this view is not new, it is hard for scientists to verify the relationship between earthquakes and tides. For example, the three largest earthquakes in recent years have occurred at very high tidal gravities, but these large earthquakes are rare and seem to be related to tidal gravity.
