In the 1980s, Buterow and Baeyer once said that “a structure represents a substance”. Today, some people still use the Kekule benzene structure, electronic exchange, and frequency of exchange in the theory of non-resonant resonance. Although Pauling himself already had a reply earlier, in our country, the liberation of ideas in various fields is quite uneven, and the resonance theory in chemical education seems to be in a semi-forbidden state. In order to invigorate academic ideas, some of the theoretical and experimental abstracts (related to this) developed in recent years are introduced. Even if they are not news, they are worthy of serious consideration.
