一、当今不景气的诗坛，尚有几多春色，豁眼醒目者当为讽刺诗。人们对诗的大多数品类漠然、淡然，不屑一顾，但对讽刺诗情致不减，从接受美学的角度看，主要是讽刺诗通俗易懂、诙谐幽默、切中时弊、大写着“我”。讽刺诗应属于主旋律，但其永远不会成为诗坛主潮。二、从历史契机和作家学养看，现在还不是出大作家之时。大作家出现必须社会安定，历史有所沉淀；时代精神全面好转，作家心态调整到最佳状态；全民素质显著提高，个人才智得以充分发展。这没有一代人三、四十年的努力，是难以奏效的。
