供水厂是集团公司水处理专业厂,2000年前的水泵密封基本采用的是软填料密封,运行和维修人员的维护量较大,经常发生由于运行维护不当导致水泵不上水,影响及时供水的现象,且由于填料密封摩擦较大,引起耗能。随着密封技术的发展,我们通过对机械密封和软填料密封的分析比较,在2002~2010年6年间,在3号、4号、新1号高炉异地大修和4号、5号、6号、7号转炉供水系统的净环供水机组的水泵(共计85台)全部采用了机械密封装置,通过近6年的实际运行,解决了水泵密封困扰安全运行问题,极大地减轻了运行和维修人员的劳动强度,达到了节能的目的。
