你是否遇到过这样的困扰?与不同文化背景的同事、顾客或合作者共事时,常常无法理解或误解他们的行为或想法。如果你来自欧洲或北美,当你与其来自东方的同事合作时,会感受到强烈的文化差异。如果你来自亚洲,或许你的某些小动作已经暗示了拒绝的意图,可是西方合作者有可能认为你已经同意了。在西方人来看,围绕着一件事情长时间的讨论,绝对是无法忍受的低效率方式。相反,东方人则认为放弃讨论是件不负责任和不成熟的做法,这种差异也突显了不同文化背景下,人们在处理问题上的巨大差别。
Have you ever encountered such distractions? When working with colleagues, customers or collaborators of different cultures, it is often impossible to understand or misunderstand their behavior or thoughts. If you come from Europe or North America, you feel strong cultural differences when working with colleagues from the East. If you come from Asia, maybe some of your tricks have already hinted at the refusal, but Western collaborators may think you’ve agreed. In the eyes of westerners, the long discussion around one thing is definitely an ineffective way to endure. On the contrary, Easterners believe it would be irresponsible and immature to abandon the discussion. Such differences also highlight the huge differences people are dealing with under different cultural backgrounds.
