近几年来,研制复合材料结构的重点已由最大限度地减轻重量转为更有经济观念的更实用的设计。采取的方案是牺牲复合材料一部分而不是全部的减重潜力,以达到较低的成本、较长的寿命和较高的可靠性。本文强调将所有项目纳入有效地形成有成本观念的结构的统一设计工作中。由于复合材料设计所涉及的面很广,所以在考虑复合材料时要比考虑普通金属时更多地采用这种统一设计原则。本文对通用动力公司康维尔分公司所作成本和性能的综合分析的几个特例进行了讨论。此外,还对选择宇航特殊应用的复合材料系统的准则和许多普通系统的设计数据进行了介绍。
In recent years, the focus of developing composite structures has shifted from a more practical design that reduces weight to a more economic concept. The solution is to sacrifice some but not all of the weight-loss potential of the composite material to achieve lower cost, longer life expectancy and higher reliability. This article emphasizes the integration of all projects into a unified design that effectively forms a cost-conscious structure. Due to the wide range of composite designs involved, this unified design principle is more used when considering composite materials than when considering common metals. This article discusses a few special cases of a comprehensive analysis of the costs and performance made by General Dynamics Convers. In addition, guidelines for selecting composite systems for aerospace-specific applications and design data for many common systems are also presented.
