The apparent solubility of naphthalene in several ABA block copolymerized surfactant aqueous solutions was measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The surfactant under investigation was sandwiched between two oxirane (EO) (hydrophilic A block) blocks in its structure with blocks of propylene oxide (PO) (hydrophobic B block). Surfactant systems that are manufactured industrially include a wide range of substances, which vary in block size and therefore vary in their hydrophobic and hydrophilic balances.
