According to Beijing’s old rules, the Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) began almost at the beginning of the lunar month. “La 7 La Ha, Frozen Dead Jackdaw.” This is the coldest time of the year. However, in the harsh winter, it will soon be spring, so people do not reduce the enthusiasm of the New Year and Spring Festival due to the cold. On the day of Laba, people’s homes and temples and temples were all congealed by laba porridge. This special porridge is a ritual offering to God. But when you think about it, it is a proud manifestation of the agricultural society. This type of porridge uses various kinds of rice, various kinds of beans, and various dried fruits (almonds, walnuts, seeds, litchi, lotus seeds, Peanuts, raisins, water chestnuts, etc.). This is not porridge but a small agricultural exhibition.
