Long ago, the Tibetans used Degas as a holy place, almost the same holy place as Lhasa and Shigatse. The mountains and rivers here are full of magnificent scenery, but the traffic is inconvenient and relatively blocked. The Tibetan traditional culture has been well preserved in this environment. In the center of Dege County, the Dege Printing Sutra is known as the first of the three major printing houses in the Tibetan region. Its scriptures are widely known in Tibetan areas and Tibetan scholars both at home and abroad. The Dege Printing Sutra, also known as the Dege Jihui Juhuiyuan, was founded in the 7th year of Qing Emperor Yongzheng (1729 AD) by De Gejiu Twelfth Tusi and the sixth-generation Fajitānji Denpazeren. It has a history of more than 270 years. There are many precious ancient books and more than 300,000 pieces of woodcut printing plates. These cultural relics are of great significance to the study of Tibetan history, culture, politics, economy, and medical technology.
