廣東省海南島瓊海縣萬泉河畔的長口村平均一點三戶就有一人行醫,因此被稱為‘醫生村’。 據六十三歲的老人張齊文說,他年輕時本村常常遭受洪水颱風的災害,隨後,天花、霍亂、瘧疾等許多病症蔓延、流行,有時全村只有少數人幸免,染病的村民因缺醫少藥而喪命的為數甚多。當時村裏有位名叫張家樂的青年,目睹這一慘狀,立志學醫,為民除病。他經過勤奮努力,考上了中山醫學院。他畢業後,回到家鄉,為民治病,受到鄉親們的敬重。如今這位村裏第一名醫生已是八十五歲高齡。
