高炉煤气是炼铁厂高炉炼铁过程中产生的副产物,含一氧化碳25%—28%,少量氢气,大部分为氮气及二氧化碳,还有较多的细灰粒,其中可燃物质为一氧化碳及氢,发热是为4600KJ/m~3(相当于1100kcal/m~3)左右。属于一种低发热量混合气体。从炼铁炉顶部排出的高炉煤气,要经过布袋除尘器除尘,除一部分送往热风炉供炼铁使用外,还剩余很大一部分煤气可用做锅炉燃料。据使用情况粗算,1台100m~3高炉的剩余煤气,能供1台蒸发量为4t/h的蒸汽锅炉燃用。
