Before the liberation, Shanghai had a cap maker Sheng Shengfu. At first, the signboard of his hat shop was written like this: “Shengxifu Hatter, who manufactures and sells hats, receives cash.” After seeing his first friend, he thought the term “hat merchant” was purely superfluous, as we have already explained. So Sheng boss removed these two words. After looking at the second friend, I feel that it is perfectly justifiable to do business and collect money. Therefore, Sheng boss has removed the word “cash withdrawal.” After looking at the third friend, I think except for the words “Sheng Xifu”, the rest of the words are cumbersome, inconvenient to chant, suggestions are removed.
