由来 徐家汇,这个带有典型上海特点的地名,从17世纪起就成为大明王朝治下最早对外进行经济、科学、教育、宗教交流的窗口。这里,是明代著名官员、当时少有的科学家、中西文化交流推动者徐光启的故园,是远东最大天主教堂——徐家汇大教堂所在地,又是百年来中国学者文人最注目的藏书楼——徐家汇藏书楼座址,还是世界闻名、国人引以为骄傲的上海交通大学驻地。
Origin Xu Jiahui, a place name with typical Shanghai characteristics, has been the earliest foreign window for economic, scientific, educational, and religious exchanges since the 17th century. Here, it is the hometown of Xu Guangqi, a famous official of the Ming Dynasty, a rare scientist at the time, and the promoter of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges. It is the seat of Xujiahui Cathedral, the largest Catholic church in the Far East, and the most noteworthy library for Chinese scholars in the past century. The building site is also a station of the Shanghai Jiaotong University, which is world-renowned and proud of people.
