For many years, many U.S. railroad companies repaired cylinder liners with loose-hole chrome plating. When the original cast iron cylinder liner worn to the extent of scrap, the cylinder liner bore a little larger, and then chrome plated back to its standard size. General Motors Corporation or Fairbank Morse complex cylinder liner to restore the original standard, the cost of the new liner is only a fraction of the price. This not only reduces the cost of replacing liners and the cost of using cast iron rings in chrome-plated liners, but also gives the user many benefits: (1) Significantly reduced liner wear rates; (2) Reduced piston rings, especially The wear and fracture of the top ring; ③ reduce the wear of the piston ring groove; ④ reduce the consumption of lubricating oil.
