近年来,历代名人手札成了一大收藏门类。从1998年中国嘉德连续推出四场“过云楼明清名家书札”专场拍卖会以来,一直在藏界持续着名人手札收藏热。2001年春拍,上海敬华公司首度拍卖中,便推出“钱镜塘藏明清尺牍专场拍卖”,成交率超过了90％。其中金农致君任札以7万元的高价成交。2002年秋季中国嘉德上拍的“钱镜塘藏明代名人尺牍”(分装20册)最终以990万元创十年古籍拍卖单项成交最高记录。
