课本的目录,教的人很少,其实,从结构教学论的角度看,目录是应该教的。当代美国著名教育家布鲁纳说:“不论选教什么学科,务必使学生理解该学科的基本结构。”而目录正是基本结构的体现,它是一本书的纲,是全书内容的高度概括,它的极精炼的语言表达了该学科的系统性和科学性。教师讲授目录,不仅要点明全书分几章几节,更重要的是要讲清章节之间的关系,重点在哪里,难点在哪里,使学生明确一学期学习的劲该往哪里使,不至于“只见树木,不见森林”,一头扎进“书山题海”中出不来。
