Fatigue characteristics of exhaust valve alloy This paper reviews the fatigue characteristics of exhaust valve alloy of internal combustion engine, lists examples of fatigue damage of standard exhaust valve, and describes the various factors causing fatigue. The results of the experiment which imitate the fatigue damage of the side valve to judge the valve design effect are discussed. Also put forward a general exhaust valve material in the air and in the corrosive environment of the high temperature fatigue strength and to determine the occurrence of fatigue crack growth method.
