“世界文学”是一个与“世界主义”思潮密切相关的概念,就其基本含义来说,是指世界上多个民族和国家文学的汇集和交流。无论是歌德还是马克思与恩格斯,在谈及“世界文学”时强调的都是多个民族和国家之间文学的接触与交流,并进而形成为人类共同精神财富的一部分。但近年来,以美国学者达姆罗什为代表的国内外学者们却偏离了上述先驱者们的初衷,过多地聚焦于本应主要作为不同语言之间文学交流实践的“世界文学”的概念探讨。该种倾向使得全球范围内的比较文学与世界文学研究走入了一个明显的误区。
