2001年11月12日,一架外国航空公司的A300-600R客机在从美国纽约肯尼迪机场起飞后不久失事,事故的初步调查结果表明是由于失事前飞机的垂直安定面与方向舵分离;我国适航当局在得知这一结论后,立即颁发了对我国所有的A300-600和A310系列飞机的垂直安定面的连接装置进行普查的适航指令,普查结果表明我国的该系列飞机均不存在类似问题,从而确保了我国的飞机不发生类似事故,保证了广大公众乘机旅行的安全。
