The image of ancient Chinese poetry and its social-cultural connotation are undoubtedly of great and great benefit to the successful domestication of translation practice. Its most important meaning is that the proper image-intension connection can stimulate the understanding of the appropriate feelings needed for the poetry involved. For the lyrical art of poetry, the “deception” is the most enjoyable part of reading experience. As for domestication translation, it is also the ultimate goal of the reader to translate his or her own interpretation. Based on the theories of Ferdiand de Sausure and Eugene A. Nida, this article tries to prove that the social-cultural connotation of images in poetry is different from that of ancient Chinese poems English translation --- especially in the naturalized translation method that the author tends to occupy - and its application value and effect are demonstrated through the translation practice based on this concept.
