在经典力学中,“惯性”与“质量”是两个基本的概念.正确地定义和解释这两个概念是很必要的.我认为,在我国出版的许多《物理学》、《理论力学》书籍中,对这两个概念的解释是违背辩证唯物主义的,也与客观事实不相符,因而是错误的.为了便于讨论问题,下面摘引其中几种有代表性的说法:“(牛顿)第一定律还指出,任何物体都具有一种特性,这特性首先表现在物体不受外力作用时保持速度不变这一事实上.我们把这种特性称为惯性.所以第一定律也称为惯性定律”.“物体的惯性还表现在受到外力作用时容易不容易改变速度这一事实上.……凡是容易改变速度的物体,我们就说它的惯性小,而不容易改变速度的物体,我们就说它的惯性
