自然通风是窗的重要功能之一,窗洞口的布置和窗的开启方式对住宅的自然通风影响很大,通过窗进入室内的空气流量取决于住宅室内外的空气压力差及窗对气流阻力的制约因素。风压和热压是形成空气压力差的主要原因,风压是由建筑物周围风力作用引起的(见图1),由于迎风墙面的阻力,还形成了下旋气流;热压是由于热空气较冷空气轻所形成的浮力作用(见图2),在夏季,由于日照使外墙面温度升高,近墙面处的热空气上升形成上旋的气流。
