贾平凹借生活之恶逼出艺术之美,作他牧歌的咏叹与沉重的悼唁,他以缺失观照缺失,还原了生活现场,疯癫、非理性的话语与行为实际上是贾平凹关于社会变革的命名和按语。贾平凹处于新旧结合的夹缝中,暗淡地转看周遭此起彼伏的尘世人生。贾平凹写了社会变迁,同时,社会变迁也写了贾平凹,特别是他的困境。贾平凹叹息田园生气的不再、一种生活方式的消逝,从而深化了他关于困境的反映。小说的琐碎写法正是困境看法的映射。贾平凹热心于“裂变”的试验,秦腔是贾平凹的精神药方。
