Hong Kong famous film critic, filmmaker Shu Qi said this statement is not accurate, accurate statement should be called “Cantonese film.” Cantonese films used to be good memories of a generation, but now they are labeled as “fragments” and most likely will disappear from the screen permanently due to improper protection. After more than two months of discussion and preparation, the Hong Kong Cantonese Film Institute recently held a founding ceremony at the Hong Kong Siu Chi Creative College. Films vocalists Feng Babao and Ruan Zhaohui, who were active in Cantonese films in the 1950s and 1960s, attended the ceremony. The research group defined Cantonese films as follows: Since the Second World War, the film was produced in Hong Kong until 1972. Cantonese-based films were produced.
