This article is translated from three chapters in Chapter VI of the English translation of The Chinese Labor Movement, 1919-1927 (1919 a1927). In these three sections, author Jean-Xerne made a brilliant analysis of a large amount of historical data and described the process of the advancement of the Chinese working class before 1919.
