Researchers at the French colleges of higher learning, Pierre and Marie Curie, reported using laser-cooled mirrors to improve interferometer measurement accuracy. Brownian motion caused by inherent thermal noise is the biggest obstacle to interferometer gravitational wave detector accuracy. The group measures Brownian motion with in-phase vibration generated by a high-precision cavity after the 810 nm Ti: sapphire laser is injected into the mirror. Modulate the 50 0 m with the feedback loop of the cavity signal
