6月27日,Intel公司基于酷睿微体系架构设计的第一款处理器产品——Intel至强5100在北京正式发布。研发代码为Woodcrest的Intel至强5100主要面向服务器、工作站、通信、存储和嵌入式细分市场。酷睿微体系架构是Intel新一代的Core架构。Intel下一代桌面核心、移动核心和服务器核心都将采用这一统一架构。Intel酷睿微体系架构的设计目标就是提高处理器每瓦特性能。通过宽动态指令执行、高级数字媒体增强、智能缓存加速、智能电源管理、智能缓存等技术的使用,Intel进一步优化了多核处理器的能效。与上一代Intel服务器产品相比,双核Intel至强处理器5100系列实现了135%的性能提升和40%的能耗节省。Woodcrest被Intel认为是挑战AMD Opteron处理器最佳的产品,因为其全新设计的架构会拥有非常高的单位执行效率。相比于原来的至强2.80GHz,新架构的Woodcrest的性能将增加80%,功耗则减少35%。Intel将出货的5100系列产品,CPU主频达3.0GHz,总线频率升级到1333MHz,双核共事4MB的L2高速缓存。在3GHz版本的产品中,其中一款的热设计功耗(TDP)为80瓦,其他款的热设计功耗是65瓦。此外还将在第三季度出厂一款主频在2.33GHz、热设计功耗仅为40瓦的低电压产品。点评:在Intel发布至强5100之前,Intel还发布了采用老一代架构的至强5000处理器(研发代号为Dempsey)。Dempsey满足追求性价比的低端用户的需求,Woodcrest主要面向中高端至强用户。而到明年四路至强处理器发布后,双核至强将逐渐走向低端。至此,我们看到了一个完整的双核至强产品线。而由于同样基于Bensley平台,至强用户将获得包括全缓冲内存(FB-DIMM)、Intel虚拟化技术(VT)、Intel主动服务器管理(Intel Active Server Manager)技术和IntelI/O加速技术(I/OAT)等方面的支持。
June 27, Intel’s first micro-system architecture based on Core micro-processor design - Intel 5100 officially released in Beijing.
