In 2012, the weather in Europe was a bit unusual. At the beginning of the year there was a mild winter, but the spring was cold and rainy. The beginning of the summer was still cool and did not reach the temperature that the grapes should have. Therefore, when the September and October grape harvest season approached, the major European grape producing countries represented by France and Italy suffered a large area of decline in grape production. In fact, due to the weather, the cultivation of grapes has its own difference in years. In some years, the yield is high. In some years, the yield is relatively low, but the reduction of grapes that happened in 50 years in 2012 seems to be relatively small.
