Alice Walker is a famous contemporary black woman novelist in the United States. His ideas on women’sism are influential in the black feminist movement. Concern over spiritual survival (that is, the complete survival of the black people) is the core of Walker’s feminist thinking. Its work is an eternal theme. Through the analysis of the shortcoming of male characters in Walker ’s first novel, “The Third Life of Grange Copeland”, from the absence of man’ s spirit to the search for the return of souls and finally to the difficult journey of spiritual survival, The same implies Walkers profound women’s thought, that is, the author’s attention to the survival of Negro national spirit.
