For the first time, the fossils of insects were found in the sedimentary strata of the Quaternary of Kongma Basin, Naqu, Tibet. The fossil characteristics and the production horizon of the fossils were described. The fossils of the insects were identified as Hymenoptera, Diptera and Heteroptera. The ESR geochronological samples of this formation were collected and the test results show that the epoch of this formation was early-middle Pleistocene. The evolution and distribution of insects are closely related to the environment. This finding provides new information for studying the evolution of biology, lakes, river evolution, climate change, palaeogeography, paleoenvironment changes and the Quaternary stratigraphic division since the Quaternary of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
