Thin slab casting prone problems is that non-metallic inclusions easily with the molten steel flow into the mold, thus affecting the quality of the slab. To solve this problem, the researchers devoted themselves to the development of mold electromagnetic brake device. Two generations of electromagnetic brake devices have been developed. On this basis, ABB Systems of Sweden conducted an in-depth study on the influence of electromagnetic brake on the flow of molten steel in the mold and developed two mathematical models, Japan Kawasaki Iron and Steel Company to develop a new generation (that is, the third generation) electromagnetic brake device. The mold electromagnetic brake developed by ABB has been called “FC Mold”. It is characterized by
