Experiments lyophilized allogeneic nerves were used in conjunction with exogenous nerve growth factor (NGF) to bridge a 1.0 cm defect in the rat’s sciatic nerve. Four sets of experiments with male Wistar rats showed that lyophilized allogeneic nerves reduced their antigenicity but did not compromise the integrity of the Schwann cell (SC) basement membrane after treatment and could become axons after transplantation Sudden regeneration channels and scaffolds; the complex formed by the combination of exogenous NGF and lyophilized nerves provides a good microenvironment for nerve regeneration, with the potential to be an ideal bridging material
