嵇康,字叔夜,别名嵇中散,是三国时期重要的思想家、文学家、音乐家,他注重养生之道,信奉道教思想。嵇康善音律,通书法,《声无哀乐论》是其重要的音乐美学巨作。嵇康认为,音乐本身与人的喜怒哀乐没有任何关系,人们情感上的喜怒哀乐只是因为人们心中本身就存在着哀乐,与音乐的变化无关,音乐只是一种媒介、一种诱导。传统思想主张音乐等同于政治,这就使音乐成为了政治附庸的工具,而嵇康的《声无哀乐论》彻底否定了这样一种观点,打破了传统音乐思想的限制,着重于追求音乐的艺术性和自然美,这在中国古代音乐美学思想史上,有着举足轻重的历史地位和重要价值,对于时代的发展也是一大进步。
